Steering Rack Options

Hey guys/ girls,

just wondering if we 7thgen owners have an option when it comes to replacing the steering rack besides the ESP out the EP3. Whoa say that three times fast. Anyway, thanks for the responses and for the flames.

Re: Steering Rack Options

Bump and also has anyone had any experience with the Eibach coil over kit or the Function/Form kit for our cars...my suspension did not get repaired right after the accident so now I am having to redo it all over again and don't want to spend the 2500 for JIC's again.

Re: Steering Rack Options

Unfortunately the housings got jacked all the way around. Make a long story short I was leaving the house it was nice out...got 15 minutes down the road to where a slick S-turn is when it is dry. Still have my track tires on the car and it begins to rain right before I got to the turn...I go into a big ditch at 35 mph hit the culvert and came out backwards in the air landing on body shop driveway...

Only me.

Re: Steering Rack Options

Im sure you could use a Manual Steering Rack and completely remove power steering... and have a manual rack again.

Re: Steering Rack Options

I think you can try any of the manual steering racks from the EP3/DC5 or the ESP from the EP3. Why are you looking to upgrade?

Re: Steering Rack Options

The steering rack got busted up in the ditch diving event. And I am of the mind if it is broke just upgrade it...too bad flaming river doesn't make an after market kit for our cars, but I guess that would just be too cool of them to do.
