springs with stock shocks/ cut springs

i wanted to know how many of you out there decided to drop their cars with stock shocks and how long did you last before you blew them? another question is has anybody here cut their springs and what difference is there to cutting your springs and just getting new springs besides voiding the car warranty? thanks for the info To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

I am dropped on Ground Control coilovers with stock shocks. It has been almost 2 years, and the ride has just gone downhill. At first it was alright, but now it is just bouncy ass hell. I would not cut my springs if I were you. Just save up the money and do it right. If you have to have the car lowered just get some coilover springs like I have, but just know that you are going to have to pay the money for good ones eventually.

Springs can be had for what? $99 when there's a decient group buy going? Just pay for them. Cut springs are dangerous, stupid and ghetto among other things.

Please read the FAQ in my signature. We can't tell you how long stock shocks will last because it depends on so many factors. Some people can go a few years some a few weeks. Regardless, any time you lower your stock shocks will get weaker over time. Please search around first and READ ALL of the FAQ.
