Originally posted by joedc5 Hi all, I went to put the HAyame system on and the fronts bolted right but the rear is giving me trouble. The bottom of the strut that you bolt into through the control will not fit in space in the center of the control arm. In other words I have to shave about 2-3 mm off the Hayame strut on the end that is not threaded to make it fit onto the rear control arm. Why is this happening? Did anyone else have this problem?
Joe
Joe,
We haven't had this problem before. Give me a call and I'll try and help you out

Unfortunately I needed to get this system on the car and so I used some of my power air tools to shave off a few mm on each rear strut where the bolt goes through. I shaved it on the side that has no threads. Nice clean cut and now everything fits nice and tight and the ride quality is excellent.
joe, was it the right part number? I'm kinda thinkin of upgrading the springs to rsx ones since they're stiffer. Just need to find a rsx member that wants to trade
I went to put the Hayame system on and ran into a problem. The backs went on fine but the fronts wont bolt up. The original 2 bolts that attach the spindle/rotor to the strut are to big to go thru the holes on the hayame system to attach it. Am i suppose to buy new smaller bolts or what can anyone help. I have a 2003 civic
How much bigger is the bolt? If its only a small amount maybe drill the Hayames holes a bit larger if you think tis safe enough. Looks like there's plenty of material there unless the bolt is really big.
^^ no it's not. All you need to do is lock the two upper nuts against each other loosen the 3rd(bottom nut) and then spin the top one clockwise or counterclockwise wheather you wanna go up or down. I put mine on and adjusting only took 10min and my ride is smooth. If you do it right you can use the strut to adjust the height and adjust the springs to make the ride soft or stiff. If you try to make the ride to soft you will take the pre load off the springs which will cause them to make noise like every other coilover set. So make sure you keep a small preload on those springs, do this why the car is in the air and all tires off the ground then set the preload.
this may be a dumb question but im gona ask it anyway.... do u have to jack up the car inorder to raise and lower it? or do u have to jack up the car and take the wheel off?

yes you have to jack up the car.. well its A LOT easier if you do anyways... you can try but the car puts alot of weight on the springs and its really hard to adjust. not sure if its even possible.
I think the ease of adjustment has alot to do with your rims... mine are 5 spoke so its fairly easy to get my hands inside so i can do it with the tires on... some might have to take them off tho...
i can't help but worry about these little fitment issues since i won't be installing these until it gets warm and that won't be for months. do these have a warranty and will fitment issues be covered. urbanimport is a authorized dealer correct?
