Important info when you are looking at rims.

This may seem obvious to some but it never really entered my mind when I was looking for wheels. If you do decide to get 17"+ wheels and think the performance won't be hurt because they weigh only about 18 lbs or less think twice. An 18 lb 17" rim is still going to slow you down more than a 18 lb 15" rim simply because the weight of the wheel is spread out farther on the wheel. It takes less work to move weight towards the center of the wheel than it does on the very outside. So if you are really concerned about performance stick with 15." I'm sure some people would give a big (duh) to this thread but some people might not realize this when they are looking for light wheels so I thought I would throw it out there. That's true, I always thought...like 18lbs was 18lbs before I ever bought rims. Then after so much research you learn all these little things. Just like more expensive, lower profile tires weigh more than cheapie stock firestones too. But even with my heavy rims on my car, I don't notice that much difference in acceleration at all. After all, slow is slow!

I am hoping intake and header will balance out with my subs and rims. Slow is still slow. I am not going to be satisfied with the speed unless I get a turbo, so I might as well make it look and sound good for now.

I believe you. However, I just slapped a set of 18" Centerline RPM's on my car at only 14.5 lbs per wheel and have found that the performance is about the same as stock. One would think that a wheel that light would help reduce resistance but the width definitely offsets the weight saving even though these particular wheels are only 7" wide. I am however running 215/40-18's.

It all depends whether you're going for look or performance...and I'm going for both, so I've actually been considering 16's.
