it depends on what u want u can get some goodyears they are a good name brand(from what i heard they have real good traction on dry pavment cause they are some but have like a 200 tread life )
yoka's are good traction on dry and wet pavement not real exspensive u can pick them up around 110 each for 17's dependin on what size u get
as far as Kumho the 711;s are cheap i personally didnt like the tread design
the kumho 712's are just alittle more exspensive than the 711's but are worth it the 712's are a good cheap tire i payed around 90 each for my 17's they have AA traction and u can tell how the tires grap the road both on wet and dry pavment. as far as tread wear they are not the best but i have had them on for about 5K's miles and latly been peelin out quite a bit and i dont have to but im goin to go ahead and rotate my tires but i still have alot of rubber on em
sorry about the long post
but tires are just like everything else (even cars) people will have favorites and stick with them so basically look at the specs and see which tires are goin to be the best for you and how much money you are willin to spend
LATA
There is nothing wrong with 711's they are just a H rated tires like an AVID H4 they last forever and handle decent at a good price, I say thumbs up to them!
i have yokohama parada's and i love them!! traction is unbelievable(not to mention the bad a$$ look of the tire itself)-but if u want value, the kumho's are probably the most bang for the buck.
hmm so how'd you guys figure all this out, thats what i want to know?
sounds like kumho's 712's are good, as well yoko's parada's......
i just don't want to get ripped off when i buy rims and wheels soon.......

H rated Tires are cheaper : Kumho 711's AVID H4's Good handleing great ware, and a bit cheaper! $60-$80
Z rated Tires are more expensive : Kumho 712"s Parada's, Falkens Extreme Handling OK ware and more expensive! $80-$100
I agree with StreetTrenz, 711 are great tires for the price $80. Traction is rated AA Temp A & they have a wear factor of 340. Please tell me another lo-pro tire out there that has over a 300 rating for under $85. The 712z wear out faster & cost more. Doesn't make sense to pay more and get less. The only way I would by Z rated is if I'm going 170 on the freeway of 80mph on street turns, I highly doubt it.......
If you plan on buying expensive tires, make sure they at least have a tread wear over 300....Or else you might have to pay another gank load 6 months down the rode......
- depends on how much you want to spend: toyo makes some great tires but they're expensive but worth it. the falken's 451 is a really nice cheap tire. the kumho 711's- i heard a lot of differents opinions. for a daily driver, they quite dependable. but for those spontaneous racers, they don't get good grip on the launch. the 712's are a better tire. parada's are hella good. had those on my integra and they were smooth and strong. look into dunlop, michelin and goodyear. bridgestone potenza re950 are also a great tire.
