Question Boring out a center hole in a wheel

Okay I got these rims from a guy for a 500 watt amp and a 10" sub. They are 18" Enkei cdr9's w/ brand new Toyo z rated rubbers, and they are sick as hell for the price. Only problem is the center hole for the hub to go into is too small on the wheels. Now they are just BARELY too small, and I was wondering if anyone has ever bored out thier center holes before? I'm really strapped for cash or I would just take them to a machine shop and have them do it. And besides it always makes you feel better when you DIY! If thier has ever been anyone to do it and put it on the forum please send me the sticky! If no ones done it can anyone give me some advise so I can go into this only half way blind. If no one else has done this I will be sure to post the DIY as soon as im done, IF I dont jack it all up. Anyway any advise or stickys or sights or anything that will help would be greatly appreiciated!!! To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Re: Boring out a center hole in a wheel

yes, people do this. Just make sure everything fits like it's supposed to. tighten those lugnuts after 50 miles too.

some guy did this with some racing hart rims a while back.

Re: Boring out a center hole in a wheel

Use a dremel with a sanding wheel and just go round and round with it at the same speed so you get as even a bore as possible for doing it by hand.

Re: Boring out a center hole in a wheel

agreed, just dont stay in any one place too long, if u take too much off ull have to worry about them moving, not much, but if u make quick, smooth even passes around ul be fine!
