I have 215/40/ 18 tires on my car i have a coupe. i think that a 35 series tire is too thin of a side wall.

if you havent lowered it at all, i cant imagine you will run into any problems with any tire size, so long as you dont put 40" swamp boggers on. I have a friend with either 18's or 19's on his civic, without being lowered, and he looks like he has plenty of clearance.

but then again i can be completely wrong on this. lol.

mines r 215/35r/18
that .5" makes a big difference compared to my 7" offset on mah old rims.. i didnt think it was going to be a problem but thank god i had the camber kit.. if u dont have one u might have to roll the fender lip in.. i didnt roll it because i dont like the idea of bending anything lol...

pichy thats hot. and to the op, you can always get the fenders rolled (shaved). it doesnt even look that hard to diy. just cut off the metal hanging in there.

Re: 2001 civic lx sedan on 18's what tire size

i bought some springs with a 1.5 inch drop so if i go 225 40 18 will that rub at all i don't want any rubbing at all but im not lowering it to much and i want the wheel well to be filled up and i think 215 35 will not fill the wheel well enough does anyone have a side shot of 215 35 and 225 with a subtle drop?

I wouldnt cut it, I'd roll it. There is a special tool that attached to your wheel studs. Here is a picture:

well ive seen guys do it with a cutting tool to ferraris and such lol. but you could still tell up close that it was done by hand cause of the not so perfect line.but who would really notice with the tire on anyway

Re: 2001 civic lx sedan on 18's what tire size

the problem with cutting is that you ill weaken the shit out of that fender.. if it ever hits you will see that fender bend like paper... if you are so worried about it the best way is to roll it.. or if you are like me that i do not want to roll or bend the fender lip get the camber kit.. 1.5 drop is not alot i dont think you will have a problem but i haven't witness it.. i dont know what drop i have since i dont remember the stock hight.. if someone knows it let me know and ill measure mine.. i have tein ss for suspencion

well ive decided on 215 40 18 or 215 35 18, the 215 35 18's are alot cheaper and easier to get so what do yous think i should get?

Re: 2001 civic lx sedan on 18's what tire size

You're asking the completely wrong question. How do you not even consider the fact that your speedometer/odometer will be off if you go with the wrong tire size? With an 18 inch wheel, you should have a 215/35/18 tire to keep the same rolling diameter.

This is the third time I've posted this in 20 minutes, it's stressing me out a little......

Re: 2001 civic lx sedan on 18's what tire size

so with 18" wheels its impossible to go with 215/40/18s?? I was thinking about that after everyone said 18s give you a rough ride. I dont care much about rolling diamater I might be off a few clicks that okay but is it possible?? How much will the fender be a problem?
