but look dude, i said in my first post

it's your car, you said it was what you wanted to do, so you shouldn't care what other people think. it's obvious that you do though. this is a public forum. the only thing that will keep people from posting their opinion is if you don't start the thread in the first place. if you post a thread, people are going to share their mind whether you like it or not.

how didnt i not upgrade performance i went from drum to disk, and i feel a diff, so how are u going to tell me if it didnt make a diff. or not, did u drive my car,

Re: 5lug without a k-swap and with out custom axles!

NEG REP FOR EVERYONE!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH!!!!!

Seriously though, your ABS light is probably coming on because the sensor is in a different location on the 5-lug spindles than on your stock 4-lugs. You do run the risk of having your ABS fail you when you need it as it relies on precise measurements to know when to actuate the brakes independent of each other when you lose traction in a skid or hydroplane or something.

Personally I would disable the ABS completely at this point and just rely on your feet and (potential) mad brakin' skillz rather than taking the chance of your ABS getting you into serious trouble. Your setup is now completely different than what the computer is expecting and it won't react the way it should.

If you want to know exactly what I'm talking about, go to this thread and read texascivic2k1's post:

This thread

and follow this link from texascivic2k1's post (repost of Zzyzx's):

ABS braking explained

In the original thread boiler (Here) makes some of his usual caustic, yet informative, observations about brakes. Since you two already got into a pissing match I don't think you'll read them, but you should at least to get an idea of what you're messing with. He's a prickly SOB, but probably one of the most experienced 7th gen owners on the site.

I give you props for doing the swap, but I'd hate to see you wrapped around a telephone pole because your ABS malfunctioned (almost guaranteed to now) and threw you into a spin.

Re: 5lug without a k-swap and with out custom axles!

Just pull the ABS fuse. Your ABS light will probably come on , but if it bothers you that much, pull the cluster and put a touch of electrical tape over the LED. Presto, no more ABS light and it doesn't look like you did anything to it.

Re: 5lug without a k-swap and with out custom axles!

there will be people who will say that it is not worth the price and there is no gain in performance...

seriously most people who drive civic...and in this forum do not read and understand the whole thing...they will always be like that...when someone says something and if it is not correct...they do not accept it when others try to correct them...it happened to me alot of times...

Re: 5lug without a k-swap and with out custom axles!

^^ it kinda sounds right, but i dont think it would work with out stock tranny's, unless you can get the intermediate shaft to work.
