55 serie tires - good for tracks???

Hi everyone!
I'm looking for new tires I'm asking myself if tires in 55 are good for the track. Are they too weak. I mean, will they compress too much during braking and turning??? Cuz during winter I drive with 185/70/14 and when I brake hard my car dive like hell just because of the tires. I can tell it's the tire cuz in summer I drive with 105/40/17 and my car doesn't dive as much. So Is 55 too big for the track??

Low sidewall height does NOT equal sidewall stiffness. A lot of lower profile tires have squishy sidewalls to help aleviate some of the harshness due to the short profile. Sidewall stiffness is tire dependent, some are squishier than others, you'll find that the high performance tires are stiffer. 2 of the stiffest that come to mind are the Falken Azenis (probably the stiffest non R compound there is), and the Bridgestone Potenza S03
