brakes/noob question

Hey
my brakes are screaching and when im going above 60 and i need to come to a "quicker than usual" stop or have to slow down a lot quickly, i feel the ABS kick-in (at least i think it's the abs; i feel a quickly repeating braking pattern (don't really know how to describe it)). anyways, do I just need to replace my brake pads? or do I have to do more..?

thanks in advance
Axel

ABS kicks in any time the system senses one of the tires is decelerating quicker then the other tires (Possibly locking up) so to cure that get stickyer tires. as far as screaching, thats mostlikly pads. check the wear level on them they may be in need of replacement.

for pads, depends on what your budget is and what performance you want out of them.

Cheepie... OEM (Satisfide Pro Preformance OEM), or other equivelant. should run about $30

More Expensive but better performance, Ceramic Kevlar (AEM/Nissin)(Akebono ProACT)(Satisfied Pro Ceramic) Full sets of pads shoud run about $50

Better perfromance but more expensive Basic Composit brakes (Carbon Kevlar or Carbon Metalic) EBC Greenstuff or Hawk HPS Street would do well. cost about $60

Top end, not nessisailry better braking then the previous, but Much higher heat resistance.
EBC Redstuff, Hawk HP Plus Race pads, Porterfield R4-S or R4 compounds Cost $70+

"I know Solo only comes one minute at a time, but what an intense, non-stop, fast-forward car control exercise minute it is. Sure, the velocity is higher in road racing, but inside the car it is slow-motion in comparison. In Solo, the turns come like machine-gun rounds. "

Not unless the alignment was so far out that it was causing traction issues. If it were out that far then you would have SEVER handling problems!
