In the manual is shows that the engine holds 5.6 quarts of oil, but when you do a oil change with filter is only requires 4.4 quarts of oil. So theres 1.2 quarts of old oil in the engine when you do the oil change? Does anyone know the answer to this? I'd call the dealer but I'm sure they wouldn't know or just give me some BS.

for some reason I think the 4.4 is a misprint in the manual. It should probably be more like 5.4 Q. If i put 4.4 in there it's at the bottom circle on the dipstick. I just disregard the manual on this and put in however much oil it takes to register on the dipstick.

Thats good to know, thanks, but I can see it being misprinted in the manual, but its also on the Honda Website
That may be a factory spec. When you do an oil change you never get all of the oil out....some oil is left in the block.
So at the factory when they put oil in it for the first time it may have taken 5.6 quarts. But your right, 1.2 quarts sounds a little too much. U never know though.
I've seen some manufacturers in the past use factory specs in owners manuals....can make things confusing.
