Check out Cars Direct. You can find invoice info all over the net for free. Just do a search through yahoo or google or something..
Some dealers are advertising them for 14995, 15995, and 16995. I talked to a salesperson at the dealer I got my 02 from and they wanted 17900. I basically told them to kiss me arse.
Another honda dealer near me wants 16,995..
Dealer in atlanta wants 15995.
Carsdirect.com wants 17100 or so. They also tell you the invoice price of the car and options and such..check it out...
I am wary of the dealers with the low prices. It may not be so low once you get to the dealer.
Oh, even the sales people I spoke with said the si is not selling....something to think about because it won't be easy to sell down the road.
one of my local dealer is asking for 16900, another one is asking for 17200. If i can talk the price down to around 16000...ill highly consider buying one.
you guys think i should just offer them $17500-$17800 cash out the door? hehe think that will work?
Cash isn't nearly as good as most people think it is. Cash cuts into the dealer's profit margin. They make money on the financing. Anyhow, I wouldn't pay that much for that car. It's not worth that much. They are having a hard time moving the darn things. Think about how hard it's going to be for you to sell later on down the road.
Oh yeah, you can get one off carsdirect.com for around $17,200. So, go to carsdirect.com and print out their quote. Then, go to the dealer with it and ask them if they would rather sell you the car. Trust me, they will. That's if you have to have it now. Best to go in on December 30th when they really have their backs against the wall. They can pay the inventory tax or let you pay off and save some money.
If it wer me, I would talk to every dealer inside an area that you are willing to travel to. Would it be worth it to ya to drive 3hrs or 5hrs to save few grand?
Also, try and find a dealer that has like 5-6 SIs sitting on the lot. They will be the ones that will most likely cut you a deal.
In my mind, the si is a 15-16,000 dollar car. 17k is rediculous for that car. You are getting into accord territory.
Si prices here are down to 15.995 and a dealer I visited 2 days ago has like 2 of them and it looks like they won't be able to sell them, so the prices (I hope) will go down more or at least they will offer a 0% apr on them. I want to trade my 02 ex coupe and get an Si, now the bad part is they only offered 11.500 for my 02 ex coupe (with 8500 mis on) and the reason for this is they have 2 brand new 02 ex cps 14100 each..! WTF....
well..how should i convince the dealers that i know their SIs aren't selling and they shouldn't charge me so much for one? i hate car buying...im not very good with it. When i got my accord v6, i paid 25000 out the door for it. That was the cheapest i can get them to sell it to me... it was considered pretty good becuz the msrp for it is like 25600.
Holy ish! What year is the accord? I got my '00 accord ex-vl out the door for 22,900. Man! They ripped you hard! Well, unless you bought a '03 or something.
Get quotes off the internet from the different dealers. Check their websites and see if they are advertising any specials.
Get a quote off Cars Direct and take that with you. You definately don't want to pay more than the carsdirect price. They will beat the price most likely.
Go to several dealers and keep haggling until you can't get them down anymore. Then, take that price and go to another dealer and let them know you just came from Joe blow honda and you want to know if they will beat that price.
Make stuff up. It's a game, you have to play or they will run over you.
It was a 2000 and that price included the factory spoiler I had the dealer add.
I traded it in on the civic I have now. The interior was way too vanilla, I felt too old driving it, and since my parents paid cash for half of it, I felt like I was still a spoiled kid. Only thing is I am too old to be a spoiled kid anymore. So, I drive a civic now....I pay for it..
The Honda dealership in Gainesville put an add in the paper for 15995, they had seven. Four days later they were all sold. I traded my EX in on one, the smartest decision I made yet. They gave me 10595 for my EX.
My local dealer has 5.. the SAME 5 Sis that have been on the lot for at LEAST a month all priced under 16K. i find that funny.

just start looking at it, ask for a test drive, drive it ,talk with them about the price, blah blah, what is the lowest that you can get it to me,tell them youll think about it,but you want to check out some other cars,go back and talk a lil more, then go home without the car, tell them you really have to think about it, cause ya not sure about it and something from a different lot, like a celica.LIE LIE LIE,they will give you a call at home, believe me, it should take like a week or so, to buy a car. oh if ya gonna pay cash, dont tell them that, they will prolly charge a lil more if ya gonna pay cash. get the price "out the door" then when they say now go talk with the finance guy, then tell them your paying cash
but i wouldnt but one for no more than $15,700
you should be able to get them down that much, since they not selling well
good luck
