Honda Civic Si and Honda Civic SiRThe Honda Civic Sport Package, better known as the Honda Civic Si is a great base vehicle to start a project. Upgraded components on the Honda Civic Si gave this car a advantage from the start. The Honda Civic SiR is the Canadian version for the Si.

As you can see by my name, I'm looking to update my car just a bit. So let me know what you think...
1 - That damned shifter on the dash. Do you like it? Now don't just say yes because you have to put up with it, if you had the choice between dash shifter, and floor shifter what would it be?
2 - Tourque - 132 - Is this enough to deliver some fun?
3 - Minivan anyone - how does this thing look with a 1.5 inch drop, anyone got any pics? I've seen some pics, but I'd like to see more.
Thanks for your opinions

The answers to all your questions are HERE!
There's a crapload of lowered EP pics, and all the info you'll need on whether the type R kit will fit or not. By the way.....it won't fit. We have slightly different front/rear bumpers in North America. The side skirts fit though! Go to the forum, it'll answer all the questions you haven't come up with yet.
1. The only time the shifter feels odd to me is when I am at a light and looking for nuetral. Otherwise it feels perfectly positioned. Whenever I drive one of my other cars it feels odd when I have to reach low for the shifter, like I am reaching for a drink down in the cupholder of the Si.
2. Not a question for me to answer, my other cars are faster and lighter, and my Si has a K20A2 engine with Type R cams and a modified ECU.
hey smooth operator. why not just get the different bumpers as well? it would be worth it, IMO. but i doubt i'll ever be driving an SiR. too much money for too small an upgrade in my situation. If i was buying a civic today, it would be the SiR. hah, I wish i'd waited to get a car.

have you had any problems with it since you've swapped that in? I read the transmission had to be modified to fit the 6 gears.
The shifter mechanism had to be modified to have the range to get into reverse gear. Is that what you meant? Now I have a European Type R shift mechanism, so the modified one sits under my desk.
I am a little worried after hearing your story about the missed shift. Although i am not particularly worried about missing a shift, my ECU has been modified and I now have an 8,800 rpm rev-limiter. If yours blew at 9,200, I am not far away.

You said you have Type R cams, do you have the springs and valves as well? I dont think the Type S ones were meant to handle that high...Type R ones Im sure shouldnt have a problem...then again who knows with these new piece of crap K series...im starting to have doubts I shoulda stayed with my old Si

you belw your engine neo? and i was thinking of getting a type-S. hrmmm. so much for that idea. how'd you do it?[hr]
mis-shift at the drag strip from 3rd to 2nd(Instead of 4th).
If a motor cant handle 9k(9191 to be exact) for like a second(probably less) then thats rediculous, and the K20A2 is supposed to use most of the stuff the K20A does. My friend mis-shifted his B16A3 before and his VAFC recorded 9300, and his engine is fine. I can see if were running the car up that high, but for less than a second? Bleh. Says something especially since its not just isolated cases.
Its a nice motor, but my security with it dropped a lot now that this happened...im seriously thinking of going eg hatch with b18c5. Seriously.
