Honda Civic Si and Honda Civic SiR The Honda Civic Sport Package, better known as the Honda Civic Si is a great base vehicle to start a project. Upgraded components on the Honda Civic Si gave this car a advantage from the start. The Honda Civic SiR is the Canadian version for the Si.

CR-V for Si?

Hello, this is my first time posting on here and I just want some opinions.
I have always liked and own Hondas and right now I have an 04 CR-V 5spd.
Its nice and useful and all but for the first time ever, I have a car that doesn't make me want to take the long way home or go for a weekend exploratory drive through the twisty WV mountains. I had a 92 Prelude before and I figure the 2005 Civic Si would be similar in performance. I do like to mountainbike and need a car with a little bit of space but I rarely if ever have to CR-V packed to capacity. I just hate going on these mountainbiking trips wishing during the 2hr twisty mountain drive that I had a better handling car. To me the drive is as fun as the destination activities.
I think the 2005 Si is simialr in value to the CR-V so I could either trade with a small amout of cash difference or sell the V and buy an Si. The thing is I have never driven the Si and there aren't any on Autotrader within a 3hrs drive of here but there is this one guy at the college I go to that has a black 05 si. I talked to him once and he seems friendly. I am thinking about approaching him and asking to look at it closer, maybe go for a ride or even drive it. Anyway just weigh in with your though or experiences driving both of these vehicles or tell me its a good or bad idea if you like...

Thanks

Jon

Re: CR-V for Si?

Ive never driven the Si but my mom has a 03 CR-V. Honestly its a great car, and if u need the space i dont think the Si will be able to fit a mountain bike, and if it does it will be tight. The V is great on dry pavement, decent pickup, handles great for a small suv and is amazing in the snow. Take the Si for a test drive, im sure it will be more fun to drive than the V but you wont have the same capiblities.
Good Luck!
