Exhaust and Intake Suggestions Please

Honda Civic Si and Honda Civic SiR The Honda Civic Sport Package, better known as the Honda Civic Si is a great base vehicle to start a project. Upgraded components on the Honda Civic Si gave this car a advantage from the start. The Honda Civic SiR is the Canadian version for the Si.

Exhaust and Intake Suggestions Please

Hey I just bought a 2000 civic SI completely stock with low miles and im looking to do some basic modifications. I am relatively new to tuning and wanted to hear some of everyones input as to a good exhaust and intake combo for my car. I was leaning towards a short ram intake and catback exhaust. Just wanted to hear some personal testomonies and possibly some sound clips if anyone knows where to hear them. I have heard good things about the EVO2 exhaust from Greddy. Im not looking to turbo the car just looking for something with good tone and sound nothing ricey or too loud. Thanks alot for your input and suggestions. Aaron

I've got an AEM Cold Air, DC 421 header with a Apexi cat-back on my 2000 Si. Makes a real nice sound. Not even close to a weed wacker

Re: Exhaust and Intake Suggestions Please

I have the same car and I just had installed a custom built mandrel bent 3" piping high flow cat and Vibrant muffler.

The whole setup ran about 450 USD (though usually a mandrel bent system costs more I got a hookup) and I could not be happier. Although it probably didn't give much of a boost in HP it was enough for me to feel the difference in midrange pickup, even taking into consideration the increase in volume. The vibrant muffler has a great sound, not too high pitched or obnoxiously loud, but your wife/mom/dog or whoever will surely know you when you turn onto your street.'

Oh yeah, and I have an Injen Short Ram intake with AEM air filter attached. I am told this produces the best results for the 300 or less price range, and believe me I did my research. Stay away from cold air intakes unless you live in an area completely devoid of water; the wee bit of extra power isn't worth the risk of waterlocking your engine.
