Dealing with Honda America About Gear Grind

I called my local dealer after having my trans. fluid changed because my car still scrapes or grinds going into mostly 3rd gear but sometimes 2nd and 5th. They told me that since the car is out of warrenty, I would have to bring it in for a fee of $65 to see what is wrong with it. (I brought up the TSB and the guy shut up after that) and how with the gear scrapes it occures according to the TSB all 2001-2002 trans. not matter the vin. At this point he reinstated to bring it in and if honda will cover it good, but if not then I would be left to pay the cost of replacing the trans. But not once did I ask the buy about replacing, or that I was going to do that. Anyway, I called Honda America and spoke to a really nice lady who told me that (like I already knew) 2001-2003 have trans. problems and that it is very likely that Honda America will replace the trans. for not cost out of my pocket except for then checking to see what is wrong with the car which is $65. I have made an appointment for Tuesday Jan. 2, 2007 and she said that they are going to send my complaint to a case manager who at that point will send it to Blurington Honda and report back to be if it really is a bad trans. I have a feeling the only reason this is being done is to find out if I have raced, or abused the trans which I have never done. Just normal day to day driving to work and college. Anyway, if anyone has been down this road, please post your outcome, and hopefully someone who is out of warrenty this could help you out if you are having the same problem. Number for Honda America is 1-800-999-1009. I'll keep you all posted on what happens with the car.

I call Honda and filed a claim over 2 weeks ago and my car is getting worse and worse. I have left 6 messages since then and still no response. They are really on top of things over there! I guess I will have to wait until my car is engulfed in flames on the side of the road to get some attention from them.

no a tsb is just a diagnostic aid, its just something that helps mechanics diagnose problems quicker because they are prevalent, what problem are you having?

Re: Your answer may be here! TSB / Honda Complaint Address / Etc...

i think thats either from the bearings the suspension "top hat" for lack of a better word, or its from the wheel bearing, but thats just a guess since we cannot hear it for ourselves
