Transmission problems /please look at tonight\

It seems that it is very hard for me to shift out of gears in my car all of a sudden. My Manual transmission LX is so hard for me to shift right now i have to like push it with real force or pull it fairly hard... Is it possible that i need to get my transmission fluid changed, how often is that supposed to be changed anyway .. Im at 40,000 miles if that helps any....
If some one could please reply tongint that would be great cause i might get my fluids changed first thing in the morning?????

30000 miles is the change interval.... If you haven't done it yet, you should.

There's no need to change manual tranny fluid that early. 30,000mile is for AUTO tranny. Fluid in manual tranny easily lasts 100,000miles. My previous car was 87' Celica with 250,000miles and i changed tranny fluid TWO times.
