97 civic lx AT issues

As I was driving, all at once, the headlights/dashboard started strobing to the rpm fluctuations, the speedometer needle jumps all over the place, D4 light started flashing on its own pattern, the transmission started slipping and the engine light came on with these codes...
P0135 02 sensor malf. B1S1
0141 02 sensor malf. B1S2
0501. Speed sensor issue
0700. Tranny control SYS. Malf.
0720. Output speed sensor malf.
1298 . electric load detector malf.

Anyone have any clue what this problem is?

Alternator may have bit the dust if your lights were pulsing, check that the mounting bolts are tight. if the alternator doesnt have a good ground it can fry the ecu

Re: 97 civic lx AT issues

Blown fuse #15. Blown fuse because wiring harness is shorted against an intake bracket.

Read this info: http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/misc/...%2315_fuse.pdf

The P0700 and P0720 may or may not be a separate problem.

Re: 97 civic lx AT issues

So, replacement of #15 fuse and the Electric Load Detector solved the pulsating lights issue, speedometer needle going haywire and transmission slipping. Did not solve the flashing "D" light on the shifter (which is the shift solenoid) nor did it remove all the engine codes (some diminished) not sure which codes are left but i will keep on posting as i go. In the meantime, gotta fix the short in the harness at the intake bracket. Thank you all.
