Mysterious Fuel Gauge - where to start

I have noticed my fuel gauge acting weird recently as in going up and down randomly. Like today the fuel light went on then 3-5 minutes later it was a quarter full. Like WTF? Anyways, not sure where to start. Should I check any fuses/connections?

Be careful mine did that a few years back, and drove fine for 4 months; Than the fuel pump one day stopped working and left me stranded.

I think it was a problem with the fuel pump, level sensor switch.

If you can, access the fuel pump and check it for signs of damage.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Thanks man. I'll keep an eye on it. Heard it's a common problem.

Re: Mysterious Fuel Gauge - where to start

All older Hondas are like that. I would get off work, drive home with the gas light on then tmr morning, I'd start up my car and the light is gone. Of course, I fill up with gas that morning. But my gauge fluctuates, I know my Honda so I know how much I have left. I have an 05 ex btw.
