Rep Power: 0 2002 civic lx with d17a2 car sputters under throttle runs rough
I have a d17a2 in a 2002 civic lx, i bought the car that way so im am learning as i go. The other day while driving my car started to sputter like i was out of gas. I towed my car home and thought a plug was bad. Because its not a stock engine im having trouble going off the manual to fix it.
I have changed plugs, cleaned egr, new intake and filter. I sprayed carb cleaner check for vaccum leaks. I unhooked the tps and ran the car same thing. It sounds like a hissing leak but i can find it but there is also a repeative sound like a cylinder isnt firing correctly. I changed my upsteam sensor and the second o2 sensor is on the header and unplugged. I think on the 02s the downsteam sensor was in the exhaust and the cat was not part of the header so my question what do people do for when they swap a d17a2 into a 2002 civic?
The obd is throwing P0122 P0141.
Any suggestions?
I realize their is probably some info out there but i want to know for my swap what is relevant.
Thanks

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

You caused the P0122 when you unplugged the TPS? Erase codes and start fresh, unless that code was set BEFORE you unplugged it. If it was already there chances are good that is your problem.
P0141 is caused by unplugged rear O2 sensor.

The codes where like that before. I unplugged the tps to if there would be a change in performance.

A better scanner or app could display TPS data along with data for other major sensors. Or you could do some checking with a voltmeter to see if it is working or not.
