Exclamation park while in motion(help)

so today while i was driving i got lost so when i pull over i was going under 10 mph and i put it in park and i hear click sounds then the car came to a jerky stop. but after that the car was driving perfectly fine. its a 2011 civic, did i damage anything for doing that? i just got the car for less than a week.

Might have damaged the parking pawl inside the transmission a little. Don't do it again!

I will deff not do it again, but is my car fine? im going to park near a steep hill later to check my parking gear. hopefully it'll be fine,

It should be ok, they're designed to not stop the vehicle while it's moving otherwise you'd just rip it off.
Always use your parking brake on steep hills just in case the pawl decides to let go.
