went to change oil and not a drop of oil in filter?
I am thinking its clogged somewhere in oil passages?
Any help on where to start, will be greatly appreciated.
thanks for reading.

How long before the oil change was the engine run?
Oil filter was bone dry?
If it sat overnight the oil drained out of the filter and into the oil pan. Run the engine for 2 minutes, shut it off and remove filter. If you don't get oil coming out when you remove it then you have a clog.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

The oil filter can drain itself out, sometimes just sitting for 10 minutes before removing it. Not a problem.

I wish I could figure out how to add a picture. I have a little bolt I can't find where it goes? Looks to be on exhaust, rusted , 8 mm 1/2inch long with a fat washer that has a grove all the way around it.

thanks ezone,
my kids came home from college this weekend so I will see if they can help me do it. I wish I could win the lottery, then I could pay somebody to fix my cars. lol
thanks again

I made a photobucket account (free) and I use the photobuck app on my phone & tablet to back up my photos automatically.
I go to my photobucket account webpage and I do this: (follow along with the pictures)
I find the picture I want in my uploads and I click on the direct link to copy the address:
So you just click the icon my cursor is on here
I use ctrl+v to paste the link I have copied. I hit OK and you get the image address.
You won't see the picture until you hit preview or post at the bottom of the page. You'll just see the IMG URL as in this picture:
you can put any image in... like this.

If you just click on IMG it'll automatically copy to the clipboard and then you can just control/command V while you're typing and it'll insert the picture.

I believe filters are designed to bypass if they are clogged. That is the only reason I can think of for that to happen. Just a guess though.
