CEL came on not to long ago, got a diagnostic and the code read P1361; So i replaced my camshaft position sensor, now when i go to start her up she stalls out. Any suggestion as to what could be causing this? I was thinking maybe it could be the catalytic converter, but I've yet to deal with a cat and dont really know the symptoms of a bad cat. Let me know what you guys think and thanks in advance.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

And did you replace the camshaft (what the title says), or the cam sensor?
Factory parts?
Did you remove the timing belt?
Any other codes?

Cam sensor,
now when i go to start her up she stalls out.
Unplug the new sensor and see if it will stay running.

Either the belt is out of time or your new sensor is junk.
Get a sensor from HONDA now?

MSRP is only $66 (if your dealer prices by MSRP), and most dealers can have it by the next morning on their daily order.

Every time I've gone to my dealership, their price is far higher than list price, sometimes higher than Majestic's price with overnight shipping. Case in point, I was looking at HG kits on Majestic. Got a quote at $180 overnighted (long time ago, price has apparently since gone up) and the dealer wanted $275. Parts manager dude offered me $185 + tax and I could pick it up the next day. If it's something the dealer carries for <$10, I'll just suck up the few extra bucks.

Cam sensor from Civic 2001 EX cleary shows Mitsubishi emblem.
Same sensor is sold at Autozone.
I am sorry to disapoint all of you who thinks that Honda is stamped on every bolt of your cars.

Actually on my 02 and 03 and 07 civics every sensor under the hood is stamped Denso. All 3 have Denso alternators.Even the evap system components are denso.

pretty sure that's common knowledge that most OE sensors are denso branded
The problem when people snag sensors at autozone, they don't splurge for the mitsubishi or denso ones, they get the cheap *** duralast-branded sensors that don't play nice, even if they're stamped with the same original sensor manufacturer. Or worse yet, they grab the universal ones that you have to wire in that play even worse. There's a reason why the first thing we ask when people replaced a sensor and have the same issue is, "did you buy it at autozone or did you go Honda OEM?" 90% of the time, the person cheaped out with an autozone sensor.
At the end of the day, it's much easier to suggest to go with a Honda OEM sensor that will knowingly play nice as opposed to rolling the dice on an AutoZone sensor

I am having this same issue right now, my Honda will die at red lights and not want to crank back and revs out at 3500rpms. I replaced the camshaft position sensor, the crankshaft position sensor and the catalytic converter and it still will not run right.

What codes do you have and what brand were the sensors you installed?

Re: 02 Civic Lx stalling out after camshaft sensor replacement
OEM sensor and crankshaft position sensor error codes I used the Duralast cam shaft position sensor and I don’t know what kind of crankshaft position sensor the shop used but ever since they changed it it has left me stranded.

So you did not use OEM sensors, you used cheap crappy parts store sensors. Need to be actual Honda parts not the "genuine" parts on ebay

After a week of head scratching second guessing and cussing the Honda gods,I pulled out the 9 day old TRQ coil packs, cleaned the 300000 mile original coils and put them back in.She purrs like a kitten again.Check your coil packs. And never forget...If you work on a Honda use Honda parts. They actually are very picky.
