throttle response?

hey guys i just noticed this today but when i accelerate between 5000-5500 rpm the car stops accelerating like power isnt going to the wheels then around 5600 onwards power goes to the wheels and runs normal. the rpm gauge still shows im accelerating but no power is going to the wheels around that range. anyone know what is this or what causes this?
