I live in Cali but suspect I just bought a 49 state car because it seems to have a 49 state exhaust manifold and headpipe, with only one O2 sensor and it is in the headpipe rather than the cat. I do not see any wires or connector for a second sensor

Is there a sticker somewhere that says your car meets Cali emissions standards? If so, where?

You're describing the primary O2 sensor. You would see the secondary O2 sensor under the car, in the cat.

Refer to page 48 & 2792 for the location of the O2 sensors.

Post your VIN, I can take a look at a dealer source.




Emissions label somewhere in the engine compartment area or on the hood.

I stopped by my local dealer's parts dept but he could only tell me it was made in Canada

I was going to call American Honda tomorrow but if you have the info that would be great, as I might not have time and I only have a month to get this car into compliance.

If you read this one (this is a pic I took of a 49 state Van at work) it does state "AND CALIFORNIA REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO 2005 MODEL YEAR" bla bla bla.....

Really need to see and read an actual label for a car like yours.

Hopefully I can find out more in the AM and get back to you (if I'm not super busy)
