Rep Power: 0 2002 Heater Issue
I am all of my friends' mechanical friend. I got a message this morning from a friend she just bought a 2002 Civic. When she is driving (she said 30 mph) heater blows hot air no issues. When she slows down or stops the air goes cold. with that little bit of information I did some research I found that a possible clog or air or a thermostat could be the problem. Then she added that the gauge maxes when she stops and once she gets going again its goes back to normal. Has any one else had some similar symptoms? I am thinking maybe an issue with the cooling fan. I haven't checked it out yet just wanted to get some thoughts from some people who own Civics. Thank you in advance for any advice.

yup, lots of people, sounds like a blown head gasket,
check the fluid level in the overflow bottle, i would bet it is completely full of coolant and might even be overflowing, if so its a head gasket for sure,
tell her not to let the engine overheat, or she will need a new head along with the gasket
