Rep Power: 0 reat strut tophat poping out. what did i do wrong?
my buddy asked me to help him with his rear struts. his had 1.5in lowered springs, we had to install the new springs on the new stut assembly... after placing back into vehicle, i noticed that the tophat rubber stopper thing as well as a good part of the sturt rod poped out the top.

was there a washer or something i forgot to put under that tophat?
hopeing i dont have to remove strut again. let me know.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Looks like the lower washer is missing

How / where does the lower washer go? Would the whole shock need to be taken out, disassembled, and then reassembled? Or can you put it on through the top? I am having the same issue.

The wrong or missing washer would need to go on the "step" near the top of the shaft of the strut. It cannot drop down past that step or else the shaft will be able to go up through the rest of the bushings.
