Mechanical Problems/Vehicle Issues and Fix-it ForumIf you've got a problem you just can't figure out, a noise you can't diagnose, or a Check Engine Light that won't go away, ask about it here!
Here's my issue and I would really appreciate some input,
I was attempting to replace the air filter in my Honda ('03 Civic Si) and there is a small hose that connects on the side of the housing (about an inch in diameter), the small plastic piece snapped off. So what I did was make a new piece out of a small pipe in order to restore the connection. Is this something that shouldn't be a big deal? Should I look into replacing the whole housing or is there a place where I can find just this little piece by itself? I've attached an image showing exactly what I'm talking about :]
Any help would be fantastic as I'm new to the Honda scene and new to these forums as well.
Assuming it's the hose that connects to the valve cover... it's your crankcase breather hose.. basically recirculates any blow-by gases back into the intake stream instead of venting off to the atmosphere..
keeps hippies happy, no offense intended to any hippies out there.. lol
