cover gasket? (PICS)

Got a small, drop by drop of fresh oil coming out of the bottom of this black cap thingy. Not sure what its for.

This is a 01 civic lx




Please tell me this is just a simple fix >.>

That is your cam seal,

That is your cam seal, it is notorious for leaks. Just take off the valve cover and take that little plug off and put some liquid gasket around it and put it back on and your set no more leak.

the link that i shared said that you do not have to take the valve cover off, just use a small flat head screw driver and pry it off. order a new seal from dealership and get some hondabond. i also posted a youtube vid, he doesn't actually do it but walks through it pretty well. should help you out

I take the valve cover off cause its easy to jack the plug up popping it out with a screw driver. It takes like 5 mins to take the valve cover off and get to the plug. He doesn't need to buy another one. All he needs is some liquid gasket and put it slightly around the plug.
