Ron I NEVER "abused" my car. I beat the sh!t out of it now but, I never did before the problems started. I babied my car. That damn car had to many problems to be on the road in the first place. The problems have nothing to do with how the car was treated or the mods for that matter cuz it WAS treated so god damn well. Now is a different story. Regradless the car is a POS and the problems I have with American Honda are with American Honda. Not with my car really or the way the car preforms. My problems with American Honda are with American Honda and no one else.

Mine was also made in March of 2001. That really doesn't mean anything though. Who knows the car right before mine may be perfect as the car right before yours may have ended up exactly the same as mine, nothing but a headache.

min 2k2 lx sedan at was made in canada last may and it began rattling after 1,000 miles. i ve saw some white rust around the engine area and my car is actually still under 1,500 miles. one friend of mine got a japan made civic, and she has not a problem so far. if all these build quality problems are manufactor associated, how i should have got a jp made civic by paying a grand more! anyone out there having jp made 2k2 and not having problems? if you are having complains with your 2k1 or 2k2, what is your first vin number? is it 1 (us), 2 (ca), or j (jp)?

Sorry Bluebirdz, your car does sound like it was a lemon, but there are laws against that that you should or should have looked into. I have a 2001 LX coupe, it is now 12 months old, but really like 12 months NEW!! I love my car. I have treated it well, and in return it has provided me with a smooth, quiet ride(minus my exhaust). My only complaint in 13 months is that my latch to pop my trunki has jammed twice, very minor issue. That's why warranties kick *ss!! You bbring it to Honda, and they fix it. Go ahead and buy a different make car next time. Try out a Cavalier and enjoy watching your 14k go down the tubes as your resale value drops, and drops........and drops. I guess the good thing about other cars in a similiar price range is that in 3 years, like it or not, you'll be driving a new car.

I missed out on all your issues or if you are still under warranty but has Honda replaced your tranny yet?
