[hr]you make too many unfounded generalizations about the entire Honda company as a whole, with very little concrete evidence to back it up besides your own negative experience with your Civic and those of some other people complaining on this board. [hr]
Ok like I posted before the resale value isn't that great. Second (since you don't believe me) I went to Hoehn Honda Used car store yesterday. There are 5 7th gens there right now. 2 sedans and 3 coupes. They CAN NOT sell them. This is not out of the ordinary for the 7th gen. I have plenty of concrete evidence that Honda isn't doing to good right now. I'm sorry I see the real numbers not just the published sh!t. Either way the 7th gen sucks and like I have said before I don't based my opinion on one car I am basing my opinion on Honda as a whole right now but we already know you don't listen to well. Either way this is all MY OPINION!!!!!! If you don't like it I'm sorry. You don't have to agree just accept it.

Yup, 2 sedans and 3 coupes sitting on a dealer's lot is a definite sign that the entire Honda Motors Corporation is in imminent danger of TOTAL collapse and bankruptcy.

That's DEFINITELY concrete evidence right there... yup.

I'd be more concernd by the fact that there so many 7th gens already on the used lots. It hasn't been that long. I guess there are reasons for people to be with cars for a short time but, it seems odd for there to be that many 7th gens on the lots already. Could it be that people are returning/trading them in early? Even a two year lease would unlikely be done by now. I haven't seen any in my nearby dealers myself....a bit concerning for sure. I remember seeing a lot of FORD FOCI hitting the USED lots pretty quick as well.

As far as quality of CIVIC's goes...well, it's all about the negine bay. They make a solid car under the hood. The jury is still out on the rest.

i have yet to have a problem with my 01. as for being shocked when you get out of the car....its not your cars fault it is the weather!!!! just as if you were to drag your feet on the floor and grad a door knob.....its not the doors fault you got shocked. and like stated many many times already...every car has different problems.....with mass productions how can you expect EVERY car to be perfect? and again with mass production....you WILL see a lot of used 01's on the lot because people will test drive them and add miles on it....cant expect the dealer to sell it as new now can you? plus honda's are like aholes.....everyone has one.....people are getting tired of being like everyone else....and car dealerships will buy and sell cars to each other to make it look like people are trading in certain cars

Ronin take a look at the way cars are built today in general. Compared to the past they suck. (I'm refering to new cars in general not just Honda) Today cars are designed and new things are added before there is any LONG TERM research done. A lot of cars are built and no one knows how they will react in say 5 years. So when they cr@p out then you are just stuck. I understand Honda use to make a superior product but I feel that things have changed. Not only are they making inferior products but when one of their cars does have a problem they refuse to fix it.

As far as that is concerned I was using that as an example. I know a lot of the dealerships have 7th gens sitting on the used lots and they CAN NOT sell them. Mind you here in San Digeo that is par fo the course. The sales department will even tell you they can't sell them. No one that knows anything about the 7th gen wants to buy one. Honestly it isn't only the cars it is the management, ownership and customer service that will be what ruins the company not the cars, unless they get their sh!t together(or at least here in the states). I am not refering to Acura (although the Acura dealerships here are worse than the Honda ones) Acura does have some decent cars BUT they are seriously over priced. Either way my opinion is not just based on the car.

They can not make a car used just because it was test driven. The only way to take a new car and put it on a used lot is if the dealer couldn't sell them during the fiscal year. At that point they are turned over to the used dealerships and sold as a used car.

You were the first one to bring up the issue of "concrete" evidence, but you have yet to provide any of this "concrete" evidence. Noticing that there are 7th gens on lots does NOT constitute "concrete" evidence, IMHO. You want to see real problems? Go check out how Ford and GM are doing. And go check out the latest NHTSA press releases on the Focus. Now THAT'S "concrete" evidence.

Respecting and accepting opinions are 2 different things. Like buttholes, everybody's got their own opinion, and I respect that. But accepting an opinion is something else entirely, especially when it involves the type of generalizations and extrapolations you are making.

You want to make a point that Honda Motors Corp is going down, well you better be prepared to get called out, especially on a Honda board like this one. And you better have more "concrete" evidence than a bunch of crappy dealerships in San Diego that seem to have lots of 7th gens on their lots.

well all ive got to say is that my car has a rattle here and there , but you know what i fix it myself . yeah i have had some trouble with my 01 LX but i didnt get that upset about it . i just took it to the dealer and let them worry about it . and if you are wanting to know what went wrong the computer fried at 35,000 and a injector was stopped slam up that i was running on 3 cylinders for about 90 miles . but the good thing was is that they got it fixed for me and had it back in four days because the computer wasnt telling them what was wrong with the car. so stop complaining and be thankful that you have a car that runs good enough to get you from point A to point B

Oddly enough, the person who started this thread doesn't even frequent this site anymore, or have a HONDA CIVIC anymore - at least from what I can tell.

These flame wars of Complainers vs. Honda Lovers has gotten real stale. I think both sides have valid points myself but, it should never get into name calling and " I can prove you wrong" rhetoric. That just takes your argument and nullifies it completely.

In some of these cases, why aren't you folks talking via PERSONAL MESSAGE? Why is someone loving or hating a car causing people to become so mean and obnoxious with each other? This kind of thing is turnng a very important and valuable web site into a joke.

Where exactly is your car now, anyways? Is it completely undrivable?

I shouldn't be driving it but I have no other choice. It is not safe. It needs to go back to the dealership but I haven't gotten to it. My car is having more tranny problems. Now it doesn't like to go into first, second, third or reverse. So I have to take off in second a lot of the time. Or I have to go from 2nd to 4th gear. Then there are those days it just doesn't want to go anywhere.

Man, that really sucks. Even though we have our differences in opinion on certain topics, I really do feel bad that you have so many problems with your car.
