Mechanical Problems/Vehicle Issues and Fix-it ForumIf you've got a problem you just can't figure out, a noise you can't diagnose, or a Check Engine Light that won't go away, ask about it here!
hey when i start my car i get a high pitched squeal, so im guessing this is one of my belts.. my friend told me to water each one down until i see which one is making the noise, any suggestions? thanks
High pitch squeal is generally caused by a loose or worn out belt. It's either the accessory belt or the power steering belt. Depending on how many miles you have on them just get them replaced, if they are fairly new it's probably the result of an improper install and just tighten them up. The accessory belt and p/s belt on these cars dont have an auto tensioner so they won't keep tension as they wear.
If your going to put anything on the belts don't use water use belt dressing. It works way better.

My car makes the same noise. But i have changed both of my belts and it still does it mainly when i start my car. i have been told that I have a baring that is going out in one of my pulleys. Anyone have a idea of the main one that I need to start with on checking?
thanks in advance.
