Heater blower strength loss

I have a civic se executive 2001 and the blower seems to have lost it's strength.

There doen't seem to be a problem with the fan as you can hear it on full strength, but what comes out of the vents is very little.

This is my partners car and we have swapped (my car is better in the snow) for the frosty spell that we're having, but it's taking an age to defrost and warm up due to this issue.

Is there anything I should be looking for that could cause this?

Thanks,

Do you have snow blocking where the cabin air is getting pulled from?

Change your cabin filters. They're $15 at any auto parts store. They're behind the glovebox. My finger is on the release for the cabin filter box door:

^ It's unbelievable how much stuff gets into these filters. I had bird feathers in mine when I pulled them out for the first time and they were completly black and plugged.

Heres a DIY someone made up:

Re: Heater blower strength loss

Great advice from all. I took out the filters - they were rancid. Give them a long soak in hot water and degreaser, then dried and refitted them. This worked a treat, I have heat again.

Thanks again for the assistance
