Whats up! It's me again with another question about performance slash what you guys recommend for intake manifolds, on a d17 2002 civic dx, i've had the full exhaust done from the header back, and i've had an aem short ram intake bolted on aswell. What do you suggest for aftermarket manifolds?

there's really nothing for us as far as aftermarket IMs go.. there was one from KMS, but it (i think) only hurt performance unless you were boosted.
edit: upon further investigation, it did nothing for n/a builds. And KMS only made like 10 of 'em. There's another one from JDM Fabtech that looks badass.

Another option is doing the d16y8 IM swap

I wouldnt do that swap, but I would swap to a ex head... free up some power. Hit me up, still got one I never used, hella clean.

no no, the cylinder head. The LX head is a non-vtec head, the EX is a vtec head. The only way to go from SOHC to DOHC is an engine swap. A header isn't the same as the head

Your LX header will still bolt up to the EX Vtec cylinder head tho. Valve covers are the same too. Its literally just a bolt on, but it takes some time and knowledge so it might not be for you.

How much would this cost me to get the heads replaced, providing i have someone else do it, and what kinda performance gain would i get?

Re: aftermarket intake manifolds
But i'm in the process of fabricating a intake manifold for the d17s seeing that KMS and JDMfabtech makes their's at special orders and at a costly price. This manifold would be recommended for boosted applications. After the fabrications and another dyno run to see the gains i'll post it up and see if their's a retail benefit for the product.
