Rep Power: 0 04 Civic SI Auto 4 door buzzing sounds
My 04 Civic SI 4door automatic makes a buzzing sound from the dash when I try starting her. It will not start if I hear the buzz. All I have to do is turn the key back to the off position and the car will start normally. The buzzing is becoming more frequent and hot and cold does not impact it. The batery was changed less than a year ago and also the alternator at that time by the dealer. Once the entire panel lights went out while I was driving - I stopped on the driveway and restarted the engine and the panel came on. The dealer wants me to bring it in and the will analyse it - I am afraid to do that without knowing the cause....
any ideas will be appreciated.

thats definatly a wire grounding out in your dash somewhere since it happens when you try to start it i would start with the ignition switch

that's exactly what I thought when I heard it. It sounds like it's grounding out. HAd my accord in at Honda today and ask the service guy what he thought about the civic. He told me I was turning the key too SLOWLY and there are no fix for this problem - he says "as per Honda" other than turning the key faster...I started turning the key faster and well never had the problem since...If I turn it slowly it does seem to make that buzzing sound sometime...what next? I don't know. Anyone heard of this?
ANy ideas where to start?
thanks
