Problem after cold start up

So I have a 2002 civic ex coupe 5spd and lately I have an issue with the car right when I start it. Basically it starts fine then once I begin to move the throttle response completely goes away and the car stumbles, it wont actually die just the rpms fall to around 500ish. If I push the clutch back in it will pick the rpms back up but it wont always. Generally it does this 3 or 4 times or until the car has run for around a minute or 2. It normaly only does it when the engine is cool (ambient) but sometimes will do it when the car has just sat for a few minutes.

It will also do this if the car is just sitting idleing and not being driven. Again rpms fall and the car stumbles, after it shutters for a few seconds it runs fine.

I'm at a loss at this point I dont have a fancy scan tool to check that everything is functioning correctly. I have to assume its a sensor of some sort but they are expensive and I dont want to throw parts at it.

Is your CEL on? I just had my CEL come on and its throwing a code for cat inefficency. I dont know if this problem could be from a clogged cat or something but its getting worse.

Re: Problem after cold start up

Ok so I cleaned the TB, IAC and EGR valve with some carb cleaner and that seems to have fixed the problem. I will keep you posted if something changes
