the black box that sits on top of the throttle body...that is where air filter resides in...u need a 10mm ratchet preferably...loosen all the bolts around that box....please note that these bolts don't come out they just pull up a little bit...once they are all loose, pull off the top cover and BAM! there sits the filter...replace, and don't overtighten the bolts when u put the cover back on...I hope this stays true wit the 05' civic....they should..let me know!

The owners manual gives a good description of how to accomplish this.... if its like my 01 LX (it probably is), there are a bunch of screws that you need to unscrew (they stay in the airbox lid so you dont lose them, a good thing).

Also, you can use a 10mm with on a drill (I do) and it speeds things up... hehe, speed and an auto LX...

if you own an s2000, you should at least know how to change an air filter

its a box at the top of your engine bay, your manual should have it
