Rep Power: 0 feul (gas) door release broken
My 2002 civic's quick release for the fuel door has broken (the one on the floor) Where can I find the emergency release in the trunk and what should I be looking for? I felt around but didn't feel/see anything.
I gotta find this soon as I have no gas left in the tank!!
After I get the thing open I assume it will stay open, is this something I can fix myself? if so how do I get at the cable
TIA

Rep Power: 450 mine has been broken for a while, im just to lazy to get it fixed, the emergency opener is in the trunk on the left side, just pull back the carpet and reach your arm in and you will see a black plug thing and a wire coming out of it, turn it to the left or to the right till it come's out, when you put it back in make sure the tabs on the side of it are horizontal or the door wont stay closed, you cant really get the wire anywhere else than the dealer and i heard its really hard to put in cause you have to lift up all the carpet and all that, just go to the dealer and get it dont im sure it wont cost too much, i plan on going soon but my car is warrantied

Rep Power: 293 Just something to check.
One time for me, the spring that opens the fuel door open popped out of place and the door would no longer open when the release was pulled. If this happened, you would have heard a "sproing" sound when you closed the fuel door the last time. All you have to do in this case is have somebody push the fuel door release while you open the door with your hand. If your lucky, the sheet metal spring should just fall out and you can pop it back into place.

Rep Power: 450 i thought it was the spring too but when i took out that part i was able to push the button in and out and it seemed like the spring was still in good shape so im guessing it is the chord that ripped for me
