when ur braking it could be warped rotors. or out of alignment maybe u knocked off one of ur balencers on the wheels. im experienceing the same thing at the moment. im hoping when i put my steelies on this weekend itll fix that if not then its going to goodyear to scrape up onto the alingment rack heh

if your wheel shakes when you start breaking, then you have too much runout on your rotors. Its not a bad thing, mine have extreme runout and it shakes bad when I brake. I just havent been able to replace them yet. Just find out how much material you have left on them and see how much runout there is and then based on that, you either need to replace them or you can machine them.

Every time lately that I have had rotors turned they fail again soon after, I have gotten into the habit of just buying new rotors. They are made very cheap these days.

It could also be a messed up tire. My car has around 47k on original firestones, and I just had my front rotors cut for the second time (replaced first time, stock cuts second). It was shaking under braking and a little at higher speed just cruising along like you're saying. After getting the front discs changed, the mechanic test drove the car and thought a wheel might have been out of balance. He re-balanced all of them and it still had a little shake feeling. He decided it was a "bad belt" in one of the tires. It was also determined that it was a rear tire, because if you moved a rear tire to the front as you'd do when rotating, the problem got amplified which he says should happen if a belt has broke or gone bad.

I was going to be buying tires really soon anyway, before the snow fall... so he advised I just do it now and fix the problem. My tires are still on a UPS truck somewhere, but I think he's probably right with his assumption.

Just another idea for ya.

I do the same thing. I use rotors once and then replace them. I do it because brembo rotors are cheap and spending $90 is no big deal.

But again it is only $10 a rotor or so at some auto parts stores, so I recommend it if people are low on money.
