I just installed my AEM cai a couple days ago too and my car idles higher then normal. I'm hoping its just cause my ecu hasnt gotten used to the mass amounts of air coming from the intake.
As far as the check engine light did you reattach the o2 sensor?
Check and make sure the o2 sensor is place on the right place.
Check all connections and hoses.
Next, disconnect your possitive terminal of the battery for about
3 minutes the light sure go out by then.
About the idle being running high is because of the change of air intake, this is quite normal, your fuel comsumtion will go up as well.
Is you car an automatic?
After doing all the moods to your engine is a good idea to have your CPU tuned with the changes of your car.
You may have to find a good shop other than the dealer to do so.
Is no big deal, all they have to have is a computer reader that will fit your car and change a few settings.
If you are going to modify your car you must get the service manual for this car, is a good thing to have.
thanks for the response to answer all the questions its a manual yes I plugged all the hoses and and sensors back in. Only thing I couldnt get the clamp to go on the vacume hose on the engine I dont think that should pose a problem. I am getting some racing harts in a few days and will have to send in a pic
Mine Reaches 4000 RPM Idling speed when I just install my AEM CAI with Bypass valve. When I was test driving it for some strange reason my idling reaches that speed but it never happen again
When you start putting engine mods on your car ie: CAI your car will idle a little differently for a little while. What's happening is that your computer is adjusting all the settings for your idle/a/f mixture etc.... After you drive it for a little bit, it will go back to normal. As far as the check engine light, yeah, what he said! It could be the milage on your car in which you just reset it (that is if everything is hooked up properly on the CAI and there is really no reason for it to be on) following the D.I.Y!!
