you have the check engine light (malfunction). It means something is wrong with the car. You can have the code checked free at some auto parts stores with odbii reader. Then match the code with the problems in tech forum sticky post. If you fix the problem, reset the light by pulling the battery negative terminal or the FI ECU fuse for a few seconds and plug it back. even if its doing the 1,000 mile over blink? (like for 10-20 seconds?)

Just a reminder to everyone, the check engine light is a picture of a engine while the maintenence required light says "maint reqd". too many people are getting confused between the 2.

I take mine to Honda when the Maint Required light turns on, just because I am still under warranty, etc. Is this a smart thing to do or not?

yea, i thought it was my oil change light at first, so i had my oil changed which needed to be done anyway at 9500 miles, but thanks for the info on how to turn it off... it was starting to get annoying very quickly!
