hey just wanna hear what you guyz think about straight pipes ( like replacing the cat with a pipe )
they do help a lot with horsies becuz there wouldn't be any restrictions anymore,
so the exhaust gas would flow rite out...
but wut I wanna know is that will it be easily caught by cops...
I know some of my friends have took out their cat and not get caught..
any of you guyz thought about putting in a straight pipe or have done it already??

hmm.. only thing i can think of is hollowing out your cat (wouldn't recommend) or fabricating something that looks like a catalytic converter and replacing it. they only way they would know at that points is if they ripped it apart. i'm not saying do this, but it may sure as hell work!
There are "test pipes" avalible for the 2K1 now...they cost about $60+.....there are a few companies making them now....Let me know if you want one, I can get my hands on some....polished stainless
hey swifty.....sounds like you can get a lot of stuff
what do you mean by "test pipes" though??? I thought it's just a plain pipe that's universal
to all cars.
and yes, I'm interested in getting a straight pipe....can you hook me up with one??
oh ya, I've been wanting to ask you bout the blue reverse lights..
I need a pair of bright blue reverse lights....how much can you get it to me for??

A test pipe is just what it is called....I guess it just sounds better than a cat by-pass....The ones I get are vehicle specific, and come with the proper flanges...they take about 10-15 mins to install....also avalible now are full stainless or aluminized 2.25" exhaust for quite a reasonalbe price
As for the blue reverse lights....just go to LORDCO and get the APC 194 Super White bulbs, there are two types of blue there is the Super white (the ones you want) and a regular old skool blue bulb (not what you want)....they are about $5, and if you went through me I'd only be able to save you about $1, so really no biggie.....Talk to MIKE #3 in richmond Lordco or Chris 604 276 1866...they will know what you are talking about....Tell them Mustang Jay sent ya, they will hook U up with a good deal on anything....Trust me on this one
If you want the Exhaust just PM me....so far I've only hooke TanginaRacer up with exhaust on this forum and he's happy with it...sounds and looks good on his inca pearl
Ok guys sorry bout this but my supplier only makes cat replacements for up to 2000 Civic...nothing yet for the 2001, but a trip to LORDCO for some flanges and then to a good muffler shop will net you a custom cat replacement, this is what we did before the test pipes were around...it's much cheaper than destroying your factory cat by hollowing it out....The guys at CARLINE BRAKE AND MUFFLER in Richmond will be able to do it for ya, and it will still cost about the same as buying an aftermarket replacement....and as for the O2 sensor all that has to be done is a nut is welded to the test pipe for the O2 sensor to go into, just that simple
PS i'm going to try another supplier on Monday so dont loose hope yet
