there are laws but they aren't specifically "lemon laws"... but there are consumer laws in place that protect one after buying a troublesome car from a registered dealer (curbsiders not included), and the laws differ from province to province (some provinces don't have a "lemon law"). can't remember the criteria in order to be considered a lemon though...
plus you can take any issues up with the Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Plan (CAMVAP) for neutral third party resolution if necessary...
there's no specific lemon law here.....however, there is an agancy, CAMVAMP I think it's called, that's supposed to provide protection for us against lemon cars.....lemme see if I can remember where I read about it before and get back to you....
I believe there is some sort of protection, not specifically lemon laws. I am confident that there is lemon laws regarding computers. Usually a lemon is considered after 3 repairs of the SAME problem.
haven't had time to look up the CAMVAP stuff yet (darn draven beat me to the post with more information too =p) but wanted to chip in: if something is considered a lemon after 3 repairs of the same problems, then my car is definetly one....
in the 3 years I've had it (I'm nearing end of warranty now), I've complained and repaired the front suspension 4 times, and the rear suspension 6 times, both for various squeaking sounds. The front struts have now been replaced, the rear brushings have been replaced, among other stuff that I can't remember now, and it's STILL squeaking slightly.
hmmmmm......I should've looked more closely at that lemon stuff....
