Can anyone tell me how to reset the check engine light because the dealer didn't do it when I took it in for a oil change.
Thanks

Rep Power: 346 Do you mean the Maintenance Required Light or the actual Check Engine Light? Cause if it's the "Check Engine Light", you need to take your car in to get inspected.
If it's just the Maintenance Required Light... macrossranma is right... push and hold down the odometer button.

Rep Power: 0 It just actually happened to me.
You have to hold the odometer button in and turn the key but not all the way (dont start it) and wait for about ten seconds until it stops flashing and then turn the key off. Then it should be gone if you turn your car back on.

yeah, the original posted of the thread meant maint req light if you read what they were trying to accomplish. To reset the CEL, you need an OBD reader, for sure.
Also, I appreciate your eagerness to contribute, but this thread is over 16 years old.
