my new civic coupe LX got rear ended the day after i picked it up from the dealership...
what can i do?
ICBC said that the guy has claimed 100% responsibility...
the rear bumper cover is messed up for sure...
what else can be messed up?
the other car kinda hit the muffler and also the tow hook...
the rear lights also got a tiny scratch on them but not enough to really notice....will insurance company replace lights too? i want new lights!!!!!
will the car need to be realigned?
btw, some foam and crap is oozing out from under the bumper...what is with those styrofoam bumpers?
i also noticed that civics doesn't seem to even have a factory undercoat...i noticed the bottom of my car is just beige paint stuff...
also, i bought extra insurance so that OEM parts must be used to fix my civic....will the new bumper be prepainted or painted after? what about the serial number on the bumper....what happens to it?

dont worrie bout it
it happened to me too. i hate ppl who tail gate..
just take it to ur body shop and u dont have to worrie bout anything!
just make sure u tell them to PAINT everything.. cuz my license plate cover lights..there... its not coated with the clear coat. and make sure ur bumper and tail lights line up properly... mine DONT!!
actually i got rammed the first day driving the car...
i picked it up 9PM the day before and didn't actually get to drive it..
my trunk and plate area all seem to be fine...
it's just the bumper and area underneith that i'm worried about....
it's easy replacing the bumper cover but what if those guys are too lazy to fix the dented metal parts of the bumper....I definitely want them to to change the tail lights but is it a good idea to change them? ie. if it aint broke, don't fix it..
it's only scratched slightly and not even noticeable unless you look for the scratch... i don't want any shody body shop to snip the wires and use wirenuts to rewire stuff...i HATE wirenuts.....
if the bodyshop does a poor job, ie the lights don't line up, am i entitled to have it all redone?
they will have to replace it.. ur insurance wont go up
since it aint ur fault
this is a little hint. if u get rammed from da back its not ur fault
even if u slam the breaks on ppl hahahaha
even if its got a crack they have to replace it..
just tell them!!
hahaha make sure u dont take it to a shady shop then u should be ok.
even the honda ones are shady...
take it to a BMW place trust me!! hahaha
supYo: so what happened to your sister's rsx? did u end up swapping those seats with your Si seats? u should buy back the car from the insurance and swap the engine into your car
ok.. but u can be like the millions of other civic owners out there hahahaha
true.. but how can u pay extra for OEM stuff
the car is new.. u will get all OEM stuff!
haha i thought u wanted ur car to look stock??
hahaha aftermarket is a no no !!
hahahaha

dun know...parents bought insurance...i just noticed that they are required to use BRAND NEW OEM parts....no salvaged parts allowed....
when our 99 corolla got rear ended(it was 1 yr old at the time), ICBC tried to stick some aftermarket shiet on it...or just fill up the hole in the bumper...

well just see what u can get from insurance
thats bad luck though
best of luck wit hthe repair
eye the work if u can[hr]
ok more bad news....my insurance agent messed up my insurance policy and i don't have "replacement cost" coverage....
now i have to go to the ICBC claim centre for the estimate and nag them until they agree to use OEM parts....
also, the body shop said there is definitely damage to the metal parts of the bumper...=(
has anyone noticed that their undercoating near the middle outside of the car wil peel right off if you scrape it with your fingernail? i noticed this today...
Yeah, and that undercoating stuff on the jack points comes off too. Our cars will be rustbuckets like ford tauruses in a few years! They used to come stock with quality undercoating, but since most cars are sold in the US where it snows less, honda felt they could get away with having us pay extra for it.
My bumper was also rear ended, got it fixed by carstar -they did an excellent job, apparentyl SSM is a hard colour to match too!
