welcome...know im gonna get burned for this
just shoot ur question's and we will answer them
What's the difference between all these racing seats, why are some so expensive and some so cheap. I was looking at the other forum and they're selling seats for so cheap and ppl keep asking stuff about the brackets, sliders, etc, etc... i got lost
Welcome to the Can East. Don't mind all our off topic threads and posts (actually they could give you quite a laugh).
Just keep in mind, if you've got questions, they never get neglected here. We have several very knowledgable members here that will take care of your needs.
Racing seats require rails so that you can mount them in place of the stock ones. No rails = no install.
Price now is with any product, you get what you pay for.
Quality, material and craftsmenship.
Cheap seats aren't adjustable/cannot recline.
The more expensive ones have a little more material that make em a bit more comfortable.
However, I keep telling people (from experience)...you're gonna get really sore if you're driving in them for long durations. Racing seats are for racing, they hug the body and are stiff.
A bumper and a lip. I'm assuming you're implying aftermarket ones.
A bumper is the whole front piece hence bumper. When you buy an aftermarket bumper you need to remove the original one and replace it with the new one.
A lip is an add-on to the original lip and is made only for the original bumper. They usually extend the bumper forward or downwards usually in some stylish way. They mount to the bottom of the original bumper.
haha...cool
well we are not saying u shouldnt buy them. but if u should research what kind of seat fits u like material wise!!!
like for me i rather have leather bucket seats than cloth ones. and i want the ones that reclines not the full bucket. its mostly the person's choice and taste.
yup
another quality post brought to u by BOO!!
No no, I'm just saying you'll need to compare apples to apples. And look out for ripoffs. Just ask, if I can't answer the rest of the members probably can spot a shark in the water.
Ie. if someone's selling a Recaro or Sparco seat for a hundred or two hundred dollars, you've gotta wonder. These are high end seats and even their cheapest model won't go for a price like that. So you'll have to be careful.
Don't forget, you're in the Can East here which everyone posts in CDN $, a lot of other forums use US$ and you'll have to contend with cross-border taxes and customs charges.
oh almost forgot...brackets, sliders are some of the things u have to buy extra unless u take off the ones off ur stock seats so the new buckets u get will go on ur car with out them. ur seats not gonna hold down properly and ur gonna roll all over the place....some of the seats are cheap cuz they are no name brand and prolly fake stuff that are alright but really fade or mess up over time
