Opinions......

would you...........*correction* ....is it better to put a turbo in a vtec engine or a non-vtec engine?

while balancing out that getting a non-vtec engine car is alot cheaper on insurance and the car itself then a vtec engine car.
ex. an Si comparing to a Lx. coupe.

from my experience with this car n reading thru all the stuff that are out
i doubt we can get a street legal turbo out
and it might take alot longer than usually with the older civic's
but back on topic
u would get a higher boost out of a non-vtec engine!! because of the low compression
while the vtec is great! it cannot handle too much boost of more than 8 psi, not even more like 6psi!
so if u want to run a custom turbo its better if u have a DX or LX coupe to do it.
i dunno about insurance
why? u thinking of getting a lx???
hope that helps!!

*urrggg* no turbo for our cars for a long ass while eh.....?? i thought there was this one company/group having a prototype.....or some sh*t like that, guess not street legal then.

well, my insurance on an Si......*just say its enough to buy another car, lol*
was thinking 'bout the Sir..as supyo suggested, but that means my insurance would be even higher *sigh*
or......buy a rsx type S engine and put it in my car, hahahhaahha.....that way, 4get the turbo......and in the near future, put a turbo for the type S engine, ahhaha.......if it fits in the civic.....hopefully

ya, it helps...thx.
making a list of pros/cons.

Oh yeah,

If anyone is ever serious about puttin' in Turbo, it's a little more $$$ than just the turbo itself. You'll need to get an intercooler + manifold plus change to larger pistons so that the compression doesn't blow the engine.

If anyone does turbo it should be done right or else sure ythey'll have a fast car...but not for a long.

Supercharger is another way to go and you don't have to worry about turbo lag and it's running all the time.

Sorry if I haven't got all the technical info in here...don't want to give you incorrect info.

so CB, is the supercharger like another engine on top of the regular Lx engine?
unlike the turbo, where u would have to change to larger pistons...etc.

did i get that correctly?

I have an LX coupe too

how about we use all the money were about to spend on our cars... SAVE it and buy a Mitshubishi Eclipes GTR

I have decided that MY vic will be all a show... if I want a aster car.... I'll trade it in for a RSX type S or something

and that the civic will not go as fast and perform the way we want it to.....
