Hey guys,
I have never hosted one of these before, and a lot of people have been asking me for more info + doing the DIY with them, and even doing it for them So I got some time on feb 11th, 12th, 13th to do this with people. Everyone is welcome to join. It should take about a days worth of work 6+ hours maybe to complete the full console and climate control units. It would be best to meet on the 11th as we can all stop by and get the required parts so that there is no confusion on voltage ratings and resistor values.
Give me a shout on what you guys think, if there is going to be a large turnout, then I might try to find a small venue to get people to stay in while we work (at the cost of a small fee)
last little note. If people want to move the date over more to the 19th+ then I will set a meet that will accomidate the majority of people.
Enjoy Guys !

Looks like you ran out of money to paint the rest of the car.

Anyway just wondering if anyone has any advice for me as im going to court to fight it. The ticket was issued by a municipal police force in Ontario.

stealing telly business !?!!? what are you talking bout ! i was the 2nd person to do this conversion. Gearbox being the first and giving me the idea + plans.
i really dont think you would want to be soldering outside :/ with wind and dust and all, its a little out of the ordinary. resistors weigh like 0.001 grams.. so i think you would loose a lot of parts
He ain't stealin my business, this guy's an original. If anything I owe this guy for a lot of help on when I started. AlienX, if you want an extra hand with the "instructor" side of things please let me know, I'll gladly lend a hand. You got pm btw.
i jus said it cause usually telly is postin up on the boards about LED this LED that!
Dance for TeLLy! OK no serious I think this will be a good thing - I mean, AlienX and I have been doing things slightly differently over the past couple years, so when we get together, this will only result in an improved, uniform process for LED conversions. And the savings will be passed on to YOU, the sexy consumers! Funtastic LED fun for all!
it will be guages, center, window, mirror, cruise, ect. EVERYTHING
and if you have a stock deck, I can attempt that, i havn't tried it yet but it shouldn't be too hard.
send me PM to telly for details, we should have everything outlined by tomorrow night.
Hey AlienX, I've been meaning to bug you about gauges - I need your help with mine.....but center console, mirror, cruise, etc I can say I'm a pro so I can definitely help you with doing those for people.
so you dont have your guagues done !?! Thats the hardest part :P you just need to check out my mirror cuz I ****ed it up just a tad and i'm too lazy to fix it.

It's hard to get my hands on an EL cluster. If I had a civic I'd just go get a spare Civic cluster and have it handy in case I fudge it. I've always been in the habit of having backup parts for any mod I do. Thing is since I can't find a spare EL cluster, I'm very apprehensive about tearing into my one and only.
well, if you f uck up, the only thing you would need to do is change the facing from an EL to a vic and it will be fine. I'm gonna give you a call tonight round 8ish, so intecipate my call.
does friday count as a weekend day :/
Price wise... wait a little, telly and I are trying to work something out that will work for everyone that DOESNT want to do it them selves, but have us do it for them, and a price for assistance along the way or maybe no price for those people. We have to see what the turn out is going to be because this isn't a small air freshener install.
Fraid not, actually the 11th is my last day here at my current company, so I HAVE to be here, at least till 4...and I'm sure they're taking me out so I can get drunk and berate everyone after.
sounds good.
Ill edit the first msg confirming everything.
Should we post the prices also ?
Price for us doing all the work and price just for assistance ?
go for it.
If you want ship all your parts and we can ship them back @ your expense.
and you can drive without a cluster... Ive already done it Not legal and not really safe but it works.
