What does the law say about underbody neons and when they can be used? I heard they are illegal to have on while driving....that they are for parked use only??? This true....if so whats the situation on cops actually going after this. I'm debating the purchase...but it wouldnt be worth while i dont think if i couldnt use them on the street.

Hey 02Civic... London cops are pretty easy going about car mods. Check the LAC board about this... there's a post about underbody lights and the legal issues. One guy actually went down to the PD and asked an officer.
I spoke to an officer the night we went to watch 2F2F.. he said that the neons are actually illegal because they affect the radar used by the cops. If they're on, it meeses up the signal that the radar emits. So colour doesn't really matter apparently.

I hear that....although the one cop recently was a huge jerk, all my past expierences with london cops have been good. One cop even gave me props on my car and was asking all sorts of questions bout my rims. He even mentiones my tint which is illegal..but didnt give me a ticket or anything for it. Just wondering how they are on underbody neon. Anyone know how much the ticket is?????
Sorry bro, I cant think of any reason why it would be illigal to have underbody neon lights. Some homo cop mite try to jam ya with a ticket if the light is visible from the rear (red only) or from the front (white or amber)
No where in the HTA states weather under the car light is permitted or not. It can be fought against but you will get a lot of hassle from police officers, it will catch a lot of attention and well the office will book you for anything possible while giving you a B.S ticket on neon lights. Remember blue/red are bad mix, could be impersonating a police officer.
Do not listen to police officers, unless you get written agreement that neon underbody lights are legal to be on a motor vehicle.
Ok, spoke with Sergeant Vertolli of the Peel traffic unit. As it stands, there is no specific offence for having neon lights under your car. Cant have them around your plate, but nothing in the HTA regarding neon light under the car.
However, like I said before, be sure you cant clearly see the neon light from the front of the car (unless it casts a white or amber light), or from the back (unless it casts a red light).
So if u get the neon lights installed and you get pulled over, say "screw you pig, Narc says you got shit on me" then flip him the finger and squeal off.
ALRIGHT!!! Then I can run with my blue neons on... whooppeee!
Thanks for clearing things up Narc... you saved me....... hmm, lets see... about 3 times now! hehehe
The way I see it CUE, you owe me. Let me have your car for a weekend. Ok, fine, just gimmie sum points. Haha, thats funny, you guys giving me POINTS! Hee hee.
