i dont think i would be able to do a good job, i know i would have to use a high temp paint. if anyone knows a place i can go to get this done , please let me know? around how much would it cost?
Dude, its SO easy --- WALMART has high temp paint AND masking tape! - I prefer the high heat ALUMINIUM engine intake paint. It looks good and stays on (if you follow the directions).
but if you have the need to spend $$$, you can drive up here and i'll do it for like $200.00

what exactly would i have to do, if i did it my self? how long will it take?
and where can i find a silver color?
did u color urs, can i see how it looks?

OK, let's break it down...
1. Hit snooze bar a few times, or wake up by some other means
2. Get dressed, eat breakfast, brush teeth, comb hair.
3. Go to Walmart - stop and get gas if need be
4. Search Auto & Paint department for masking tape (if you feel you need it - always good to have some), maybe some high temp-self etching-rust inhibiting primer, a wire brush, and desired color of high temp engine paint. Sometimes paint specifically designed for brake parts is available.
5. Pay Cashier - shoplifting is a crime and being some jailmate's "b!tch" would probably suck
6. Go home - obey all speed limits - we don't want this $20 project to become a $220 day
7. Put on clothes to get down & dirty with
8. Chock front wheels
9. Set E-brake & put car in gear - LOOSEN (do not remove) rear lugs
10. Jack up rear of car using lift points suggested in your owner's manual
11. Place car on jack stands. if you do not own some, use a large rock or a small dog - or you could buy some jack stands while @ Walmart because they're always handy to have and you'll probably need them again
12. Remove lug nuts and wheels
13. Undo E-brake so removing drums is a tad easier
14. Remove drum - if frozen on hub, give a couple taps with a hammer - DON'T GO NUTS HERE
15. wire brush the living daylights out of it to take care of the rust - this could take hours or minutes - depending on the severity of the rust, OR (this is what I would do) Take them to a shop to have them sandblasted for like $10 or something. Actually, if the drums are cheap enough @ an auto store - advance auto or something, I might just get new ones and paint those. If you do this, use denatured alcohol or degreaser or mineral spirits or something to get the oil off of the out side (sometimes they are lightly coated to prevent rusting while on the shelf.)
16. Mask off turned interior of drums (where brake shoes touch) or be DAMN careful while spraying. DO NOT get paint on this surface - could really make things "fun" while trying to stop.
17. Let paint dry
18. Installation is reverse of removal (Steps 17-1 with the exception of 17,16,15,6,5,4,+3)
19. Drink a beer - Soda if under 21 years of age
20. Have a good day.

Again, I recommend the high temp aluminium intake engine paint - i've been buying it for years and painted a whole V8 engine block with it and it's still looking good. I think its made by duplicolor or something.
I'll see if I have any pics off hand -- I'd just buy a can and tryit on something stupid first to see how you like it. Follow the directions on the can for best results.
As for my place of residency, I'm in the great upstate NY city of Rochester

u know how the front of our cars there are rotors,
and the back there isnt, its just a drum thats what i want to paint.
forest hills is in queens. i want to clear my headlights too, i need someone who has done theres to help me out.
